About Kupas Yom Tov

Kupas Yom Tov was founded in 2014 after the sudden passing of R’ Shlomo Zalman Rosengarten, z”l, a Yungerman learning in Bais Medrash Gevoha, and Eli Raitzik, a”h, a young boy from the community. This double heartbreak in the same day awakened true feelings of unity and caring throughout Lakewood, and as a zechus for these two special Neshamos, fellow Talmidim of the Yeshiva established Kupas Yom Tov. Many Kollel families manage to live off minimal income throughout the year, but the extra expenses of Yom Tov become an overwhelming financial burden. With contributions from Yungerleit and members of the Lakewood community, Kupas Yom Tov has taken the initiative to provide financial assistance to bnei torah for their Yom Tov needs with dignity and discretion. With the endorsement of leading Rabbanim and Roshei Yeshivos, the organization creates an opportunity for all members of Klal Yisroel to show appreciation to the Bnei Torah who support us spiritually by helping to support them financially.

Kupas Yom Tov is dedicated to preserving the dignity of those in need of their assistance. Funds are distributed discretely, ensuring that recipients do not know that the money originated from the organization. In fact, some of the bnei torah that contribute money to Kupas Yom Tov do not know that they themselves will be receiving money for Yom Tov as well.

Since its inception, Kupas Yom Tov has been met with an overwhelming response as community members from all circles want to participate in supporting the dedicated Lomdei Torah of Lakewood. Contributions have doubled in the last 2 years, and donations for the next Yom Tov season are projected at 1 million dollars. With minimal overhead and other expenses, almost every penny contributed goes toward helping a Ben Torah make Yom Tov. Be a part of the great zechus of Limud Torah by donating today!
